Warrington Lodge

providing care for individuals living with dementia

Our 21 bedroomed, custom built house, is situated in charming countryside where we provide a high standard of care 24 hours a day.
We offer both long term and short term stays as well as respite care for those living with dementia.

Our bedrooms are single, tastefully decorated and all have en suite facilities. Residents are encouraged to personalise their own room with photographs, paintings, pictures, ornaments and small pieces of furniture.
All bedrooms either overlook green meadows or mature gardens and residents can also enjoy the fresh air in our internal, secure, especially adapted sensory garden area – whether helping out with the plants or enjoying the flowers, shrubs and vegetables in their raised beds, as well as two water features.

There are 2 large lounges and a separate dining room. In addition there is a fully equipped hair dressing salon and information technology suite. Wifi access is available throughout the home. There are several quiet, tastefully furnished, seating areas.

We have a nurse call system incorporating a passive infra-red system in each bedroom to minimise occurrence of falls and closed circuit television coverage of the exterior of the building. In addition the home is serviced by a doctor from one of the local surgeries and visited by a Psychogeriatric Consultant as required.
A laundry service is operated on site. Chiropody, manicures and newspaper delivery are available.

Catering is of a high standard at Warrington Lodge. Our highly qualified chef and team provides nutritionally balanced wholesome meals that provide the best combination of flavour and nutrition. Dietary needs are catered for.

There are no specific visiting times at the home.

A monthly communion service, conducted by a local vicar, is held monthly, to which all denominations are welcome to attend.

ACTIVITIES

We have a dedicated activities co-ordinator who provides a wide range of pastimes to interest and stimulate the physical and mental state and well being of our residents. These include group activities as well as individual hobbies and interests. We engage outside entertainers to perform from time to time.

STAFF AND TRAINING

All staff are selected for their qualities of reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness and professionalism.

We aim to deliver the highest quality of care to our residents by ensuring all our staff are trained in aspects of caring for a person with dementia. This includes a Health and Social Care diploma (2 and 3), incorporating the dementia pathway. We also encourage them to further their knowledge and skills and a variety of skill based training relevant to our resident group is available from our in-house training team, as well as external tuition/courses.

FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS AND FEES

Warrington Lodge, being a charitable trust, is a non profit making organisation. All funds generated are used for the care of the residents and the day to day running of the home.

Depending on their personal financial position, a resident can either pay the fees privately or receive benefits arranged by the local authority, whereupon a bursary arrangement is offered by the company to those who qualify.

The current rules can be complicated and specific advice is available from the manager.
